Tecno Mobile, a leading Asian mobile device manufacturer, was gearing up to launch its latest smartphone — the Tecno Camon 20 Doodle — across Africa. The global face of this campaign was none other than Mr. Doodle, a world-renowned YouTube artist celebrated for his distinctive doodle art style. He created the core brand theme and a custom doodle animation that set the visual direction for the global rollout. A brand manager from Tecno reached out to me with the exciting brief. As a longtime admirer of Mr. Doodle’s work, I was genuinely thrilled to be part of the project. But what made it even more special was the challenge: I needed to adapt his iconic style into something that felt fresh, local, and relevant to the African market. With just one week to bring this idea to life, I set out to develop my own unique doodle style — one that stayed true to Mr. Doodle’s playful vision while weaving in elements and influences that would connect with African audiences. It was a fast-paced, creatively demanding project, but an incredibly rewarding experience.
